restaurants in Southern California but I didn't want you to
think you were being ignored. Check out the LA
Indonesian Consulate web site. If they don't have events
posted, they should at least have some contact phone
numbers.<br><br>There is usually a large North American "Field Day" in
August. I attended one in 1994 in DC.<br><br>About the
language, don't sweat it. It's fun to learn. Check out my

ello all. I feel a bit uneducated because it
seems that I am one of the few members (I'm
brand-spanking new!) who doesn't actually speak Indonesian. My
parents spoke the language a bit while I was growing up
(they were both born and raised in Java), but they also
spoke Dutch, and they spoke that language more often
than Bahasa Indonesian. Anyways, that said, I wanted
to find out if anyone here knows anything about some
sort of Indonesian annual festival, street fair,
gathering, etc., that might take place in or around the Los
Angeles area. My uncle mentioned that he had heard
something about it, and if anyone knows anything about
this, could you please inform me? I would like to get
involved with anything Indonesian here in southern
California. I'm also interested in finding out about good
Indo restaurants in southern California. I've only
been to a few in Los Angeles, and they are not enough
to satisfy my love for the food of the islands!
