(practical and academic), coordinated by Merticus

(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vampirism). The goal of this gathering
is to bring together the community's serious and sane for discussion,
knowledge exchange, networking, and social engagement. This is an
invitational event that screens attendees, and we reserve the right to
refuse access to anyone.

      - Event History

TWILIGHT I was held in Los Angeles, CA on October 30, 2007, and
officially hosted by The Wretched eList (California Vampires)
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wretched), and the Los Angeles Vampire
Meetup Group (http://vampires.meetup.com/40). The evening began with a
formal banquet dinner on one level, and progressed to presentations
and discussions on a second level. Presenting at this gathering was
Michelle Belanger (of House Kheperu and author of The Psychic Vampire
Codex), along with Merticus and Zero (of the Atlanta Vampire Alliance
(AVA), and Suscitatio Enterprises, LLC - authors of Vampirism & Energy
Work Research Study.) With an attendance of 50 individuals,
representative of many notable, and active community memebers from the
Sourthern Californian region, as well as attendees from as far away as
South Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, and Northen California, this memorable
gathering was heralded as a success.

TWILIGHT II was held in Atlanta, Georgia on the weekend of March
7-9th, 2008, and officially hosted by the Atlanta Vampire Alliance
(http://www.atlantavampirealliance.com) and Atlanta Non-Conformists
Meetup Group (http://vampires.meetup.com/96). Presentations were held
by Jason Crutchfield and Michelle Belanger of House Kheperu, Merticus,
Zero, and SethNunMin of the Atlanta Vampire Alliance, Alistair of
House DarkHaven, Tau Peristera De Magdalene and Tau Heosphoros Iacchus
of Liberi Sanguinis Luciferi, RavenHarte of Clan Caladuwlch, Stephen
O'Mallie of Clan O'Mallie and House Vengeance, along with discussions
involving Aslin Ni MorRhiaghan, Khan, Onyx Ravyn, Allen Greenfield,
and Daemonox, and group discussion of the much debated documentary,
Vampyres: When Reality Goes Beyond Fiction. With an outstanding
attendance of 75 people, this gathering brought together attendees as
far away as Calfornia, Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, Florida, Tennesse,
Texas, North & South Carolina, Alabama, along with the greater Atlanta
region.

28th will celebrate its 10 Year Anniversary.  Hotel accomodations have
been made that necessitate limiting the number of attendees to no more
than 60, with discount registration rates available till September
1st, so early RSVP'ing and hotel registration is highly encouraged. At
this time we are interested in hearing from those who would be
intrested in participating in this event as hosts, presenters, event
assistants/security, and we welcome topic suggestions for the
discussion panels. Please contact either Merticus or Daemonox by way
of Meetup.com, or make your topic suggestions in the TWILIGHT Meetup
message board.

Attendance is retricted to members of TWILIGHT only.

This is an exert of an email I sent yesterday to someone.  I thought
you all may find this interesting and may like it.

No one should have to feel fear for believing or following a
religion or path because we all have freedom of religion. Fear
should have no place in dictating what religion we follow and it
should not dictate or force people to live secrete lives (hide in a
broom closet).

"Big Brother" has always picked on someone. From Witches, to Gay and
Lesbians, African Americans etc. They will always pick on someone
unless people stand up and force them to abide by the laws in which
our forefathers sat down and wrote. Yes, I realize that this
is "easier said than done".

Change doesn't happen over night, but it does happen. In the Pagan
Religions, we can see how change does happen. We celebrate it with
the Turning of the Wheel, with every new life that is brought into
this world, with every passing from this world, even when our own
Gods (the Holly and Oak Kings) slay each other so that things can
change.

Change is something that is not easy for people to accept. It never
has been. It seems that people view others that want to change
things as being an outcast or rogue of some sort. That is the way it
has always been. People fear what they do not either understand and
or know. History has proven that fact over and over again. However,
if it had not been for those people in the past not giving up the
fight of wanting change, the African Americans would not be free,
women would not have the right to vote, and we would not be able to
protect our children with the Megan's Law.

Everything changes. It is just a question of when and how. People
grow, expand their minds, their spirits and their beliefs. Even our
own Goddesses tell us this: "Everything Changes, Nothing Stays the
Same" and "She changes everything She touches." Without change, we
would be stagnant, stuck in a boring world where there was nothing
to look forward to because it would all be the same repetitious
life.

Traditions are a great and valuable thing, but even those change or
are altered over time. Change is one of those things that is just
inevitable. It is the Circle of Life. The Ebb and Flow. The New and
Full Moons.

I'm not saying any of this to cause a debate. I am speaking from my
own life's lessons (being hard headed makes for a soft ass when the
Gods want you to learn something-- this I know very well as the Gods
have kicked my ass a few times.)

Change rarely ever happens when we are ready for it. I guess that is
what makes it one of life's big surprises!

Yesterday, July 9, 2005 after careful consideration and research into
the Father Sebastian Todd fiasco, have decided to issue Sin Nomine for
Father Sebastian Todd. This decission was not made lightly. We fully
understand the ramifications that could result from this however, we
feel we must take a stand none-the-less.

We as vampires, speaking to all of us not just those within my court,
are responsible for making sure that our community is safe and
protected from those who would mean us harm in any way.
