Knyght Raven and others, halito...this is bvshpolawa, but now I am in
Michigan for a while...I was last in Mississippi the 27th August 2006,
as I try to work on behalf of Great Mystery I sometimes get
relocated...so, for the remainder of this year I will post on the
beauty that Earth Mother expresses up here...we had snow on thursday
last week, and it was incredible...snow is a powerful way for Earth
Mother to cleanse- all of life shuts down as she works...yet, the trees
survive, the birds also...daily there are always the biggest broad
winged hawks watching over me...they are rather large and white
breasted...I take my 5 yr old son fishing on saturdays, and twice we
have been blessed with visitations by otter...we have also encountered
woodchuck, these are beautiful creatures that everyone wants to kill on
sight...I guess that man and gun will eventually reduce these if we do
not intervene...lots of Spirit dreamtimes up here as well...so, if
there is anyone interested, lets share our lives from where we are
living now

wisdom, protection, power over darkness, silent in action...we
believe that if you give a cat wings, you have an owl-hah!...and I
have been dancing through the steps of splitting the blanket, divorce
in modern terms..I spent 9 days in Houston TX visiting my oldest
children, Little Deer and Snake, they are fine...Snake shot a wild
boar so we feasted on that for X-mas...it is nowhere like
domesticated hog,I will not eat domesticated hog( or meat processed)
from anywhere...but then again, I only eat the nipi(meat) that I
either hunt or fish for- this is Mississippi's advantage-wild turkey,
quail, fish, deer, duck, boar, black berries, black walnuts, greens, my
garden is about 1/2 acre you know...we meet at Manataka American

Hittak nitak hon mississippi vt kapassa- it is cold today in
mississippi. how are things where you are living?
I have been reading through the postings regarding the meaning of
names. Spirit leads me to share a simple teaching with those of
seeking spirit. The person gives the meaning to the name. Names are
only symbols for describing things verbally. I can call something red
and eadible an apple, you may call it a fruit, so who would be
correct? we are both relating to the same thing. The histories
associated with names give us an insight into what the name once
meant to someone. From our red histories we know that each individual
was given a name to demark their time of entering the physical world.
As the individual grew and gained life experience, the name changed
to reflect where the person was at that time in their life. Some of
us still honor this old way and have had several different names at
this point in life. My Chahta naming of bvshpolawa means many
knives.I was told that a knife is a tool, and I walk with many tools.
For those that are seeking to reconnect to Achuffa Chito/ the great
one from their hearts, prayer will allow them to hear the name for
their spirit to follow.Yes, there are vision quests, and also
ceremonies and elaborate rituals to receive this spirit title, but
for those living in areas that do not offer access to the more
natural areas of Earth mother, simple sincere prayer will work. I
presently live in the backwoods in Mississippi, but the same spirit
that dances here with me is also with you where ever you live.Your
pigeons are my vultures and eagles, your cats and dogs are my beaver
and fox. They all are a piece of Spirit, as are you and i.

Hi!
There are places on the internet where you can research your family.
Also, believe it or nmot, The Morman church in Salt Lake can do a search for
you. They claim to be able to trace Native families.
In my case, no one had birth certificates so are not traceable. Good Luck!

Hi
Thanks for your note.
I don't know if names mean different things to different tribes. Might be
interesting to look into this.
My "Linn" means: " She who sits by flowing water".
My Spiritual name:"Eye of the Fire" , I "earned" by crying for a vision for a
number of years and doing many things for it to be revealed.
Hope you are able to find the things that will help you in your life as you
move forward. Linn

Hello!
I am new and joined several lists.... not knowing which were active or not.
So you might get the same hello from me twice... or thrice. lol
My name is Lisa. I am 3/16 Choctaw. I am not even sure what that means, but
that is what my father says. I'm not registered anywhere because we do not
know the names of our Choctaw ancestors. Besides 3/16 might not be enough to
register anywhere.
I am deeply interested in expanding my knowledge of this part of my
heritage. I have just finished a very comprehensive and hard-reading book
about the whole history and my head hurts.
I am a devoted Christian and am happy to see many references to God in the
Choctaw nations.... God is a loving and wonderful influence in my life and
in the lives of my ancestors and current family.
How did you all get such wonderful names? Someone told me that a person can
be given a name or they can choose one. And where is everyone located? I am
vagabonding so I go between Texas and Louisiana, but who knows where I will
go next???? (smile)

I'm new here...I have some (a few) Indian ancestors...and I live in an
area that has many places named after Indian names...I have always been
interested in these names and the meanings. If you wouldn't mind, I
would love to know the meaning of some of these names...
My name is Gay"lynn", and found it interesting that your name was Linn (
Eye of the Fire)...Does this mean that part of my own name has this
meaning, or does it differ with different "people" (of different races)?
Really "new" at this...
Thanks,
Gaylynn
Ho Many Knives
Thanks so much for keeping me on your email list.
Truely we are undergoing many shifts and changes. Hopefully you are doing
better than the last time we spoke by phone.
I am also going through changes, as are many others that I know.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you! Linn ( Eye of the Fire)

Declaration of The Great Calendar Change of 2004
(To be read at every Day Out of Time celebration at high noon)
On this Day Out of Time, White Spectral Mirror, the 365th day of the
Thirteen Moon/28-day calendar year, we, the people, are gathered in
numerous celebrations and festivals at sites around the world -why?
Because we are celebrating the Great Calendar Change of 2004. As of
the next day, Blue Crystal Storm, the first day of the Thirteen
Moon/28-day calendar year, there will be a New Time on Earth. What
does this mean?
It means that for the first time in human history, the people of the
Earth - not from one country, but from many countries and diverse
cultural traditions - will be in support of and already following
the new calendar. The times in which we are living are dangerous and
complex. The Earth's future is in the balance. The people know that
things will not get better until we are living in a New Time. There
are but a few years until the cycle of history closes in 2012. The
people know this. The signs are everywhere that the great standards
are changing. A new way must be found for the next evolutionary
leap. We can no longer wait for a Caesar or a Pope, a president or a
prime minister to issue the mandate for this kind of change. That is
why we, the people of the Earth, have undertaken this change by
ourselves and of our own volition. It is reason and common sense,
intelligence and compassion for all of life that move us to make
this change. We know that the future is ours to create.
In over 90 countries now the new harmonic standard of Thirteen
Moons/28 days has spread and is now being followed. This is an
irreversible change. This is a movement that cannot nor will not be
stopped. It is the force of evolution itself. It is in accord with
the principles of higher spiritual evolution. It is in accord with
the transformation of our biosphere into the noosphere - the unified
mental field of planet Earth. This is a cause of the greatest joy
and celebration. We, the people, know that by 2012, Earth and all of
her tribes and nations will be unified under the new standard of
peace, Thirteen Moons/28 days.
Though supported by the League of Nations, the International Chamber
of Commerce and individuals as diverse as Eastman Kodak and Mahatma
Gandhi, the Calendar Reform movement of the 1920s and 1930s, did not
succeed. But its efforts were not in vain. It prepared the ground
for such a change. In the seventy years since that noble effort, the
reasons for making the change have become blatant and glaring. The
disorder of society, reflecting the disorder of an irregular
standard of measuring time, is now worldwide and epidemic in scope.
This time the urgent call for calendar change has come from a
people's movement that has already succeeded in becoming a
widespread planetary phenomenon. What seems impossible today, will
be common sense tomorrow. Such is the obvious logic of a perpetual
standard of measuring our time, the harmonic standard of Thirteen
Moons/28-days.
Henceforth, may this wave of the future penetrate all sectors of
global society. May those who doubt find renewed faith. May those
who stand on the side lines wondering, jump in and find a new,
unifying commitment to a future of peace. We who make this change,
do so under the Banner of Peace, an internationally recognized
instrument for establishing world peace through culture. For that
reason this Day Out of Time is also known as the International Peace
through Culture Festival. On this day we pray for universal
forgiveness. Meditating on our unity, marching and dancing in rhythm
to the New Time, we proclaim: Time is no longer money. Time is art.
May peace prevail on Earth. May the standard of the New Time call
forth that day soon when our swords are beat into plowshares and
children of all races, colors and creeds are playing and praying
together in the sunshine of the promised land whose time has finally
come. May the New Time of peace prevail on Earth!

Finally Spring is here. A time of renewal, birth, and rebirth. A time
to remember the old and welcome the new. A time of new life. Welcome
Spring!
Enjoy the beauty of Mother Earth
Beadmaker
Halito to all that pass this way. Last night I was invited to take
part in a Lakota pipe ceremony. On our way we were asked to pick up a
lady who lived nearby, as she had asked for a healing ceremony. We
drove to her home in a snow storm, but after we left town the snow
ended. I was asked to drum for this cereomny. When we arrived we
started to ready ourselves for the pipe. The pipe went very well.
This was my first time to smoke with this pipecarrier. We then had a
meal, and proceeded to the Drum Circle to start the healing. At this
time I was told by the pipecarrier to let my wife have my drum,as
they wanted me to have a healing too. During two rounds of drumming I
shared my vision with the pipecarrier and a shaman. We all felt
Spirit had gifted a good healing for both myself and the lady. A good
exchange of energy and I felt a great gift from Spirit, many
questions in my mind were answered. A night went Spirit walked with
us and certainly touched my life. I am very honored to Spirit, and
now wish to share Spirit with all.
Walk as one with Spirit, Beadmaker
Halito Many Knives, I think you are correct about your dream. Dreams
can be warnings about things to come or a vision of things that are
happening in the present. My wife has had a vision each time a family
member has crossed over, at the exact time. Spirit speaks to people
by way of dreams and we must seek the reality in them.
We are thankful Spirit was protecting your wife that night so all was
well. Peace be with your family and you.
Always walk with Spirit, Beadmaker
