My Fellow Igbarasnons:
As we face the possibility of ward in Iraq, let us invoke Our Lady of the
Most Holy Rosary, whose year we celebrate, to protect us from all harm
and danger. “Birhen sang Barangay, pamatii ang amon pangamuyo!

IGBARAS 2003
1. "Igbarasnon Guid Takon." A very generous kasimanwa who is humble and
thus wants to remain anonymous has produced on her own a ROSTER OF
IGBARASNONS in North America. She has donated this booklet to us all and
I have them in my possession and they are ready for distribution. If you
wish to receive a free copy, please send me a self-addressed stamped
envelope and mail it to: I.A.A., 1168 North Bay View Avenue,
Wilmington, CA 90744-3324
2. The Igbarasnon is fascinated with arriving in Igbaras unannounced (for
effects you know, he he) so as to surprise family and friends and well it
takes out the possibility of requested “pasalubong.” I think this is one
of the reasons why most of us will not say if were going back home this
May. Consider this however, the Commision on Filipinos Overseas, an
official ministry of the Philippine government has pledged to “fetch” or
welcome all Igbarasnons upon their arrival at the N.A.I.A. (Manila
International Airport). In order for this to happen, you need to e-mail
me your itinerary, the number of people in your party and you will arrive
with style and dignity in Manila. Kasimanwas who wish to avail of this
service should e-mail us A.S.A.P. “Daad kon may plano kamo nga mauli sa
Igbaras sa Mayo, tanan kita sara lang ang aton travel agent.
Maka-discount guro kita. Kon may interesado, tawgi ninyo ako.”
3. “Igbaras Celebration 2003, a chance for all Igbarasnons to come
together!” I know that some of us can not make it to Igbaras this coming
May for one reason or another. That said, it doesn't mean that you cannot
be with us in spirit. And why stop there? We ask that “kon sin-o and indi
makauli sa Mayo,” maybe you can opt to help in one of our many projects.
Maybe donate a prize, help fund the soup kitchen, or our miss-miss, send
some of your hard earned dollar for the aid of the parish church or maybe
even ask your paryentes in Igbaras to lend their helping hands. You see,
just because you cannot make it to our “Dutang Pinalannga” this summer
doesn't mean that you are out of the loop. Join us as we show the world
Igbaras’s own Bayanihan Spirit. Come to think of it, since you are not
paying for your own fare, maybe you can help out more, I guess this is
challenge to all of you who cannot be in Igbaras this May. We ask you to
do your part to make this “Pagtiriripon 2003” the most memorable to all
Igbarasnons and one that our tumandok will always cherish.
More on our Igbaras 2003 Celebration in the coming issues. Stay stuned!
