ICAN of Gainesville is a chapter of The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc.
ICAN is a nonprofit organization founded by Esther Booth Zorn in 1982. ICAN's mission is to improve maternal-child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery, and promoting Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).
Our Three-Fold Purpose is:
1 To lower the rising cesarean rate through education,
2 To provide a forum where women and men can express their
thoughts and concerns about birth, and
3 To provide a support network for women who are healing
from past birth experiences and for those who are
preparing for births.
We meet monthly at the Birth Center of Gainesville, in Gainesville, Florida, and at alternating locations. Please visit www.gainesville.ican-online.org and click on support meetings to see details of meeting times and topics.
By joining this group, you will receive notices regarding our meetings. We're attempting to keep this as a NO ARCHIVE group for the protection of the group members. Messages will not be archived.
