Description
ic706@yahoogroups.com:
This list was set up in 1998 by Pete Brunelli, N1QDQ and although he is no longer connected to it I'd like to thank him for his work with it to make it the most popular 706 list on the internet.
A list dedicated to the interests of users of the iCOM 706 series of compact HF/6/2/70 ham radios. Topics such as the market for new and used radios, actual and desired features, actual or desired performance, installation, troubleshooting, software/computer control, and anything else that 706-heads would find USEFUL is in-play.
Do not use the forum to badmouth 706 users, flame sellers of equipment, start bitch-wars, in fact anything that isn't in the spirit of amateur radio and being courteous to one another. Subscribers that post or repost offensive language to the list will be put on moderated posting or summarily banned from the list at the discretion of the moderators, please remember this isn't a democracy. Subscription to this list is an indication that you intend to stay on-topic and exhibit acceptable netiquette. My preference is that if you don't have anything positive to say, don't say it. Commercial adverts are forbidden no matter how you dress them and will result in a ban. Please keep relevant for sale posts limited to one per month or less, preferrably less. Abuse of this policy will result in removal from the list.
NOTICE: The content of the list is not screened prior to posting unless you are new. The moderators reserve the right to put a member on moderated posting, unsubscribe a member, or ban a member. We hope that it does not have to happen. Please keep your off-topic posts, political rants, non-ic706 related commercial advertisements, and foul language off the list and it should not be a problem. If you think that a post might become a problem, it probably will.

... Since a 1/4 wave radiator on 6 meters is also a 5/8 wave radiator on 2 meters, I was looking at it as a 5/8 wave on its side (the element connected to the

Re: Minimum operating voltage?
... Given that even down to 20% SOC (10.5V) a good deep cycle battery can have 500 to 750 cycles. In typical ham service odds are excellent the battery will

Re: Minimum operating voltage?
Those devices will keep the radio happy, but if the battery voltage is allowed to drop below about 11.9V, battery life will start to suffer. Regards, Ed ...
