Hello Everyone,
Recent News:
***I now have MP3s for sale!
My initial offering is:
J.C. Bach's "Lamento"
"Nana" by Manuel de Falla
and
"Have you seen the bright lily grow" by Robert Johnson
The former is from a live performance last month in North Carolina with the
Orchestra,
Tableau.
The latter two are lute songs with Karl Wohlwend on Guitar.
As I have more tracks come available, I will post them to my Snocap store.
Snocap is like iTunes, and can be accessed through either:
www.myspace.com/ianthecountertenor (USA only)
or
www.ianhowellcountertenor.com
***I just returned from Toronto, ON, Canada where I was auditioning for
Tafelmusik.
The audition went well (send positive thoughts up north for me) and I was able
to take in a
Tafelmusik concert that night.
They played Zelenka, Telemann, Vivaldi, Mouret, and Bach, utilizing three oboes,
and three
natural trumpets.
They presented some of the cleanest ensemble playing that I've ever heard live.
If you have a chance, go hear them!
***Recently, I traveled to Davidson, NC to give a concert of all Bach family
music (J.S., J.C.,
J.E., C.P.E., etc...)
The recording of the Lamento is from that show. I also had the chance to give a
presentation at a local elementary school.
The extremely well behaved students asked questions like, "What's your favorite
song,"
and, "Can you break a wine glass with your voice?"
Precious.
***Next up is a month of learning rep followed by my debut appearance with St
Thomas
5th Av NYC on September 14th. Rep by Handel, Bach, an Buxtehude.
be well,
Ian
