Welcome to the list for families actively homeschooling in Japan.

This forum was created to meet your needs. We would like to encourage the exchange of practical ideas, tips, information and resources, and any other homeschooling-related matters.

We also hope this will be a good place for homeschooling families to find and make friends, and share experiences in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, with due respect and regard for each other. We encourage all to post enthusiastically, in the spirit of edifying and helping one another. Please also keep an open mind and "agree to disagree" amicably, when hearing an opinion or perspective different from one's own. Please also be sensitive by refraining from making personal judgements or criticisms of another member online.

Note: General comments on education, and the political status of education in Japan and abroad, need to be posted on the edn-in-jpn list. If you're just thinking about homeschooling, join that list first until you are sure. Please think of this list as the "practical homeschooling" list for families in Japan.
