To your right you'll find a portrait of Selene, Goddess of the Moon in Greek mythology, and Her name means just that, "Moon". She is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Theia, themselves children of Gaea. Her brother Helios is the Sun, and Her sister Eos is the rosy-fingered Dawn. Selene is depicted as a beautiful winged goddess who wears a golden crown that radiates gentle light.

Selene was known to have had several lovers. One lover was the god of the wild, Pan, who appeared to Her in the form of white ram. She was worshipped in Greece at the new and the full moon (the 1st and 15th of the month in the Attic calendar). Later, She was equated with Artemis and the Roman Diana.
