This group is open to all homeschoolers, especially as a resource to those in the Tri-Cities (Tennessee) area. We will share information about local events and activities, but since many members of the group enjoy traveling, we also encourage homeschoolers in other areas to participate in discussions, share information about upcoming book sales in your own area, keep us updated about legislation issues, etc. (Hopefully this will also be a great blessing to families considering a move to or from the Tri-Cities! You'll have the chance to ask questions of homeschoolers in various locations.)

The group will be only casually moderated. Unless something is completely inappropriate or blatant spam, it will be allowed. I expect that most people would use common sense on what's appropriate and what isn't. Suggested discussion topics include survival issues, homesteading, curricula choices, child-rearing, discipline, education-related issues, etc. Obviously the great benefit to homeschoolers in the Tri-Cities area specifically (or those planning to move here) is that we share information about upcoming events, sales, activities, special deals, etc.

The ONLY thing I ask is that everyone treat other with respect. Also, anyone who is homeschooling or planning to homeschool is welcome - regardless of your religion or where you live. However, it is important to note that most members are Christians, as is the moderator.

This group generates a lot of e-mails. I suggest that you sign up for individual e-mails (so you won't miss anything) and simply be prepared to delete the ones you don't want to read.
