2000 SHELTERS THAT ACCEPT MEN,
(OR AT LEAST SEEM TO):
Listed Alphabetically by State and City.
Including Links to Many Shelter Websites.
UPDATED JULY 27, 2007:
If you don't find your city listed, check the links directly under the State Names. Many shelters are listed at these new links that I haven't had the chance to get back to-- I'm still in the middle of updating what I already have listed here-- but I am posting these new links to statewide lists of shelters as I stumble across them. The info is probably here if you will take the time to search for it. I am only one person. I can do only so much. YOU are the most important resource you have.
This info is for reference only. I figured it would be easier to verify an unknown shelter that IS listed than it would be to try to find out about one that isn't even listed. And the links I've provided seem to indicate that these shelters actually exist and are currently in operation. But when in doubt, call ahead. If it doesn't say "SHELTER", it probably isn't; but some help is likely.

The purpose of this list is to enable people who are stranded halfway across the country to find a shelter near home-- to "get back to where (they) once belonged..." so they can return to where family and friends can help them get back on their feet. To me this seems to be the best way to end the plight of the homeless-- ONCE AND FOR ALL!!
Once again, this information should be used ONLY as a guide!! It was compiled from the best sources available; but there are no guarantees. Some of these are obviously soup kitchens or thrift stores; but the list(s) I copied them from had them listed under "shelters". Maybe they know something I don't; but I can't check them out unless I'm headed to that part of the country myself. Call or write ahead. Better yet, type the shelter's name in the search window above to find the latest info.
