I invite all Hobie owners to race Midwinters at the St. Pete NOOD and then come
to Nationals at Pontchartrain Yacht Club. The Nationals are on March 19, 20, and
21, 2010. There will be a $40.00 charge for boat storage the month in between
NOOD and Nationals at the Prieto Marina. On Google, you can find the Prieto
Marina at 601 Louvois St., Mandeville, LA 70448. There will be signs posted for
the Hobie 33s. The Pontchartrain Yacht Club is at 1501 Lakeshore Dr.,
Mandeville, LA 70448. You can also check them out at www.pontyc.org.

Coral Reef Sailing Apparel will be supporting the Nationals. They will take
advance orders for crew shirts with the National logo. They can be reached at:
www.coralreefsailing.net.com or toll free at 888-224-0641. If you want to email
them, go to info@....

Thanks,
Steve

I'm working over the winter on refurbishing my Hobie. Before I simply
replace the existing hardware, I thought I would see if I can get some
ideas or recommendations.

Mainsheet -

     * Anyone using gross / fine tune or two speed systems? What ratios?
     * Anyone adding center swivel cleating? If so, how?

Vang -

     * Is 8:1 (4:1 x 2:1) enough purchase?
     * Anyone using a rigid vang for boom support? If so, what brand /
model?
     * Should the vang be self cleating or lead back to the cockpit?
Double ended?

Cunningham -

     * Purchase?
     * Self cleating or lead back?

Outhaul -

     * Purchase?
     * Where is the tail lead, aft on the boom where the main trimmer can
reach (at least upwind) or forward where they have to call for
adjustments?
