Small railroad museum needs parts cast for restoration...   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #39773 of 40037 |
Hi,

I am new to the list, and am a member of the National Railway Historical
Society. Our chapter in western NC is currently restoring a 100-yr old boxcar,
and we are seeking a person or source to help us cast some parts required for
our project.

The parts needed will be of gray iron and include things called queen posts,
lift bar brackets, and boxcar door handles. There is nothing very intricate
about any of these items, and we do have originals from which to use as
patterns.

Our projects can be see at www.tarheelpress.com/LawndaleBoxcar and at
www.newtondepot.com

We need at least 14 total parts cast, maybe as many at 100. We could either buy
these parts from you, or offer a tax deduction, or a combination of both.

If anyone has any questions or would like more information, please do not
hesitate to email me at matt@...

Thanks

Matt Bumgarner
