Friday I went back up to Ames to try to get photos of the Mississippi Kite pair.
I have added some new photos to my web site but still no very good ones. I will
be going back up one more time, probably Monday if weather is good to give it
another try.

There are quite a few other birds to be seen up there also. I encountered Brown
Thrashers all along Donato Road and many Eastern Kingbirds on wires on a short
ride in to Sharon Springs.
There is also a Ruby-throated Hummingbird that I think has a nest along side the
road near 919 Mapletown as it was seen on wire there many times while I was
there.
My best bird other than the kite on Friday was a Broad-winged Hawk that landed
in a tree right across the road from where I was sitting on Mapletown and
allowed me to shoot several photos:
