Took a different route home from work today on the west side of the river. If
the weather itself was not evocative enough of spring I had a couple Red-winged
Blackbirds kunk-la-deeing at Vosburgh Marsh - a sound I always find extremely
evocative of spring. Also at Vosburgh - a Swamp Sparrow popped up among the
reeds for a good look. Nothing much of interest (including not a single eagle on
the Hudson) except for a LAFE at Coxsackie Grasslands (Larry Federman) with whom
it was nice to chat for a bit.
