Thanks!
I hope everyone adds at LEAST one place. Then it would be a great resource -
even for me, and I live here. :)

I am sorry for another Special Notice in the same day, but this time it's
good news! There are some changes in the group, please stop by and take a
look.
I have added a new toy for our group, a map. You can add places of interest,
your favorite restaurants, stores, parks, etc.
On the group home page, go to the bottom of our navigation pane, on the left
you will see Group Labs > Applications
Click "Applications" and you will see "Our Map". I added Gerrish Township
Fire Hall to get us started.
Add your favorite places! Required fields are NAME, ADDRESS, and DESCRIPTION
You can also add photos if you'd like. It's yours - PLAY!
However, if I were you, I would not add your home or personal info, for
safety reasons. It is the internet and once posted, it is there forever for
anyone.
Enjoy!

I am sorry for another Special Notice in the same day, but this time it's good
news! There are some changes in the group, please stop by and take a look.
I have added a new toy for our group, a map. You can add places of interest,
your favorite restaurants, stores, parks, etc.
On the group home page, go to the bottom of our navigation pane, on the left,
you will see Group Labs > Applications
Click "Applications" and you will see "Our Map". I added Gerrish Township Fire
Hall to get us started.
Add your favorite places! Required fields are NAME, ADDRESS, and DESCRIPTION.
You can also add photos if you'd like. It's yours - PLAY!
However, if I were you, I would not add your home or personal info, for safety
reasons. It is the internet and once posted, it is there forever for anyone.
Enjoy!
Finally , there is progress with the road ends!!! East Road End was surveyed as
well as West Road End and the County Road Commission has marked the actual
public property. Now the lots on both sides of each road will have to deal with
moving personal property off those areas (docks, boats, lawns etc.)!!! It
certainly is nice to have a judge finally supporting us. These two road ends
are only the beginning of notifying such encroachments around the lake!!!

When I bought my home in 2007, I didn't use an attorney, but I can refer you
to my real estate agent. She could give you a name.
The agent is Shirley Furstenau, & she works at ERA Houghton-Higgins. Here is

We have a screen tent that has been in constant spring/summer/fall use for
several years. The canvas is literally falling apart from sun & weather
exposure, but the nylon screening, the zippers, and the poles are just fine if
someone can repurpose them you are welcome to them. The tent is still erected in
our yard, if nobody claims it we will put it out for the next garbage pickup.

The one at the end of sam-o-set is perfect for jet skis, free of charge... use
that... or go to the west launch and pay, much easier then the other options.

The local wreckers make a good living pulling vehicles out of the sand at road
ends for people who saved $6 at the launch sites with ramps. There's a free ramp
at the south end of Sam-O-Set.

ok. but how are you supposed to get a jetski in the lake if you cannot back it
up to the lake?

The safe way is to use the provided boat launch sites. However, small boats can
be put in at the road ends. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A RAKE TO LEVEL THE
SAND OFF AFTER EACH USE. Otherwise you may hear from the people who maintain
that road end. MOTOR VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARK ON THE ROAD END
ACCESSES.

I have a question. is it ok to drop a jetski into the lake if the road ends
into the lake? do you have to use the public access?

The Road Commission. It doesn't hurt to call the township for policing it.

The local wreckers make a good living pulling vehicles out of the sand at road
ends for people who saved $6 at the launch sites with ramps. There's a free
ramp at the south end of Sam-O-Set.

You can back up to the lake, you just have to straighten up the shore when
finished. Then, of course, you have to move your car and trailer.
