We welcome you at HENC!

HENC is intended for Home Educators of either no religious persuasion, or of a religious persuasion other than Christianity.

The purpose of the list is to support Non-Christian HE-ers who exist in a largely Christian HE world. We allow for discussion of experiences with religion within the HE community.

We strongly advise, and prefer, that those belonging to HENC also belong to another homeschooling list to ensure a balance of opinion from a wider range of HE-ers. (see suggestions below)

Upon joining the list, confirmation of the fact that you are Non Christian is required. If you are uncomfortable with this, or are of Christian belief, we ask that you join one of the many lists that are available to support Christian HE-ers solely or those who are inclusive.

HENC is a small email list that has developed from other New Zealand based home education lists. However the group is open to Non-Christian home educators from other countries also.

Its name is not meant to be discriminatory - we simply could not find another acceptable, succinct name that described what the group was for.
