Description

The Helvegr is the road to Hel, along which the souls of the dead, shamans and wise womyn travel. It is the magickal path to Hela, the Scandinavian and northern European goddess of death and the underworld. As a group, Helvegr sits twilight-like between the worlds of scholarly research and personal experience with Hela and Her family; both are equally valid. As the name Helvegr suggests, the group is primarily focused on Hela, but other aspects of Rökkr tradition are also open to discussion. These aspects include members of Hela's extended family, such as Loki, Surt, Angrboda, Fenrir, Sigyn, Nidhogg, Skadi, Mordgud, and Iormungand. Hela has issued a call for Her children to come home, and it is being answered today in ever increasing numbers.

Book Hoard: We are happy to announce that the long awaited Jotunbok from our friend and colleague Raven Kaldera is now available from Lulu. Subtitled Working With The Giants Of The Northern Tradition, this over 500 page book is perhaps now the definitive work on the Rökkr and Jotuns, drawing together experiences from people all over the world. With cover art created by Abby Helasdottir, this is the first volume in a series of books by Raven exploring different aspect of northern shamanism. The second, third and fourth volumes in the series are also available now.
