Description

This list is for the discussion of Hegel's Philosophy of history, its sources, its development and the theories of history of the Hegelian School (e.g. Gans, Michelet) and especialy how to understand and judge the history of the last 175 years after Hegel's death.

Hegel's Philosophy of History is part of his Philosophy of Right/ Objective Spirit, but it deserves a list of its own.

It is also possible to discuss the relation of Historical Materialism to Hegel's Philosophy of History in this list as well as the relation of all other Philosophies of History to Hegel's.

This list belongs to the lists of hegel.net (created 1997) and its Wiki. A complete list of the mailing lists at hegel.net with possibility to subscribe online can be found here.

If you have Hegel related questions or want to learn about Hegel, please see also our FAQ and our Hegel biography.

Mails can be posted in English or German.
