Description

This list is for discussing the works of Hegelians.

This includes the Hegelians and Hegel students of Hegel's time, the discussion / positions / persons of left, center and right wing Hegelians, and the Hegel reception all over the world within the last 200 years.

The focus of this list is not in the first place to examine wether these Hegelians are "true Hegelians" in the sense that they are thinking 100% same as Hegel did. So our focus here is not to show in what sense these were teaching the same/similar or different than Hegel's teachings, a rather boring task.

Instead, we will first try to explore these persons and thoughts themselves, their biographies, their time etc.

In a second step, we are interested to find the connection of these thoughts to Hegel's work (what did they made out of him and why) as well as to other Hegelians and other Philosophers.

As a third topic, we are interested in learning to know the influence and history of such Hegelians and what to learn from them (both in positive and negative).

Due to the volume of interest, please use the Hegel-Marx list for a discussion of Marx and Marxism. Thank you.

This list belongs to the lists of hegel.net (created 1997) and its Wiki. A complete list of the mailing lists at hegel.net with possibility to subscribe can be found here.

If you have Hegel related questions or want to learn about Hegel, please see also our FAQ and our Hegel biography.

Mails can be posted in English or German.

The copyright for these mails is the same as for hegel.net (see footer of hegel.net ).

Re: [hegel-hegelians] Filoni on Kojève on Hegel, Marx & the 'end of
With Rawls, inequality is justified only when it can be demonstrably shown that the worst off are improved, and only to that extent. Thus "justice as fairness"

I assume you mean that the American political class cannot have been significantly influenced by Rawls as it is inconceivable that they could believe that the
