This site is dedicated to the fight against infectious diseases, and the issues that surround and are involved with this endeavor; such as women’s rights, stigma or discrimination based upon a disease, the right to adequate health, and the right to employment. Our goal is to combat against dogmatism and blind faith. We declare that reason, rather than unexamined faith is the source of truth, and that human intelligence and experience are capable of guiding our lives. This site is for those who believe in freedom of thought, freedom of expression and other humanistic values. It is the antithesis to fundamentalism.
With our global society of today, diseases can be transported from one location to another with ease. We are now interconnected with people we have never seen. Businesses, citizens, and governments rely upon the efforts of people in other parts of the world for their food supplies, military security, and manufactured parts needed for industry, and banking systems. Today, no singular country can live or survive without the efforts of some unknown country for its very existence. If one part of this global chain is broken, this very action will be felt by other countries.
On the social level a change is necessary that radically modifies the conditions of the current situation that surrounds infectious diseases, of the populations, that are under the interest of a bully and irresponsible minority that occupy the economical and political power. Also necessary is a political change that modifies the structure of power bringing the decisions into the hands of the people. To do this it is necessary to have a radical change in the values that influence the social life and that of every person. For us the separation from social and personal life is false, and a social change can't exist if it's not accompanied by a personal transformation.
