Are hearing aids cool, Do they really rock, or do they simply suck? What do you think?

I think this is a great way to show that hearing aids look cool, and it gave me the idea to start this group to encourage ‘hearing aid pride’. Maybe I should say ‘EarWare Pride’!

I also thought it would be great to swap news about the latest fashion ideas and cool accessories out there, and to ask "should manufacturers came up with better looking hearing aids?". There’s a huge choice of designer spectacles, clothing, underwear, and every other accessory, but hearing aids are the only non-designer product you can wear. So maybe we can start something here – LISTEN UP MANUFACTURERS!!!!!

When I started wearing hearing aids I was nervous to begin with. I came from a hearing background and didn’t know what my friends and relatives would think about the flesh coloured ‘bananas’ behind my ears. I hid them under my hair, and hoped nobody would notice. At least they weren’t large body worn hearing aids.

It took me a long time to gain confidence and let people seen them, but when I did I discovered I really had nothing to worry about.

Now, with many musicians wearing sound monitors which look like hearing aids I think it’s really cool to wear the real thing. Besides, without them I’d be like Beethoven, and not hear the music he composed – and Ludwig Van's music rocks!
