This list will consist of healthy recipes and cooking tips and hints and discussions. We want the foods to be healthy, reasonably cheap, and reasonably basic: no [box of this], [no cans of commercial soup], [no preprocessed and packaged whatevers] allowed. Any processing and technology must be doable at home, in your kitchen. You can grow foods, freeze, dry, and can them at home: so frozen, canned, and dried foods are allowed. Mixes must be homemade to be allowed. You can grind grain in your kitchen (and many people do): so flour is allowed. Etc.

'Healthy' in food is difficult to define or agree on, so there will be considerable latitude here. But please remember the first word in the list's name: healthy. In general, we prefer *low-fat* cooking, and fresh ingredients whenever possible.

This is not a vegetarian list, but we'd like to encourage eating low on the food chain. We especially like recipes that are either meatless or contain small quantities of meat - used more as a flavoring rather than the main item.
