XHP - possibility to have hawhaw available in this 'language'   Message List
Reply Message #296 of 299 |
Hi,

Have you heard of XHP from facebook? It's a annotation to the PHP language that
lets you write your PHP more well formed and with custom tags/classes.
e.g. In your php page you would add: <m:button title="Share"/> and it would
generate the appropriate markup.

Naturally, this is what HawHaw has been doing before, this XHP method just means
that you could write your pages in a more well formed and better looking manner.

It would be great to get HawHaw as the official mobile tag namespace for XHP,
because facebook haven't released their mobile tag code for XHP.
i.e. each hawhaw class can be represented by a XHP tag.

If this is achieved then we would have exactly what facebook has in their
backend for all their mobile sites: write once and then automatic scaling down
to the user's device.

I think this is just what HawHaw needs to take it into the next era of
development, because as great as it is, it might need a fresh look/syntax to get
some attention.

Here are some more articles on facebook, mobile and xhp.
