While they wait, Lupin shows up revealing that Harry is the number one target for the ministry, as he is "wanted for questioning of the death of Albus Dumbledore." He also wants to join the trio in their quest, but upon learning that Lupin would be abandoning Tonks and his baby, Harry angrily castigates him, forcing him to leave. The mere thought of a father abandoning his baby infuriates Harry as his parents risked their lives for him. Yet, unbeknownst to Harry, Lupin only wants out to protect his baby from the shame of being the son of a werewolf.
Finally, Kreacher shows up with Mundungus, and Harry uses force that we have never seen in him to extract the information from Mundungus. Unfortunately, Mundungus says that Dolores Umbridge bought it from her. So now the trio knows they have to do: they have to steal the Slytherin Locket Horcrux from the worst professor they have ever had!
Things to think about:
1) Not much happens in this chapter, but I do notice that Kreacher significantly warms up to the trio after they have established a common enemy to unite against.
2) Lupin has good intentions for his family by leaving them, but is he really making the right decision?
3) Why does Harry use so much force against Mundungus, a common thief, when he could not use it against Bellatrix in Book 5 after she killed Sirius. Is this evidence of how much Harry has matured?
