You guys are putting in some great ideas on this subject!
I agree about Lord V. absolutely being the center of his own
universe, as we all are to some degree, but I am doubting the extent
this sharing of blood will affect him. I love the symmetry Book 4
created by this transfer, which balances everything Harry got from
Voldy when hit by that killing curse as an infant. Harry always had
that mental "link" and the ability to understand Parseltongue--
(another topic there?)-- and now perhaps Voldy will be weakened or be
more vulnerable by this foreign blood that brought him back to
physical life. By the way, how come no one has commented on the
subject of Harry's blood sacrifice that "saved" Voldy and caused him
to be reborn? Please pardon me if I am mistaken, I haven't gone back
through all the posts yet. There is some powerful symbology at work
here, and maybe consequences we can anticipate. Hah! another topic?
Anyway, I wanted to say about the concept of Love that may differ
from small-l love, that it is mainly defined as a feeling toward
someone or something that takes precedence over your own personal
wishes or well-being. Putting someone else's life or well-being ahead
of your own is the strongest example of love, and that self-
sacrificing attitude is what is truly alien to Voldemort, and
probably always will be. I can't imagine him being appalled by a
strange desire to actually "help" another being without benefit to
himself, or having a loving feeling. Are we suggesting he will do
this and just POP like a boggart?
Finally, I think Dumbledore has a lot of fight left in him, and is
going to be determined to oppose Voldemort until V. is neutralized or
dead, or repents(not likely). I see these two as the Good vs. Evil,
and Harry as the Warrior trained up to tip the balance, perhaps even
squaring off against Draco or his father at some point in book 6 or 7.
