Description

What is Haramokngna?

Haramokngna is an American Indian Culture Center

located above the Los Angeles basin in the San Gabriel Mountains at Red Box, a former Forestry fire station and Visitor contact center. Haramokngna is derived from a Gabrielino/Tongva language dialect and roughly translates as, "The place where people gather." The center is the dream of many people in the greater Los Angeles area especially for the indigenous people of

the area, because of the lack of a home base to work from. Haramokngna has become a place where Native American people can gather to share their culture, their history, their heritage, and the connection to the land with their families, other Native peoples, and with the general public in Los Angeles.
