Charity walk for Africa

DESPITE hot and humid conditions committed locals turned out for a charity walk
at Logan Central on Sunday.

Slacks Creek's Simone Feiler-Clark, who organised the Take the Walk event to
support a charity associated with her favourite band, Hanson, said the event
raised $280 for impoverished African people.

She said Hanson would donate an additional US dollar for each of the 85 people
who joined the walk.

The money goes to five charities that build schools, donate shoes, increase
access to medical care, fund HIV/AIDS clinics and drill water wells.

It's been awhile since we've had a competition and November seemed like the
perfect month to do so... so all this month we're putting a Hanson twist on
MOEvember. Each week in November we will be giving away RARE MOE merchandise.
Throughout November winners will be drawn at the end of the week (Sunday) with a
new competition starting on Monday.
