Good points, especially regarding EMI-EMC. The ADT system is supposedly
"wireless" (presumeably this is for the door sensors), but they don't
really indicate what frequency is used. UHF or S-band stuff is probably
pretty bulletproof. I think putting my own equipment in might be a
better choice than getting stuck with whatever luck of the drawn stuff
they are providing.
FWIW, ADT says they are selling fixed term (2 or 3 year) contracts only.
