Tuesday Morning Update - Bug may have been found this morning with Henk PD5DP.

If you have problems starting DM780 - typically a crash during startup then pay
attention.

http://mannindustries.net/hrd/Test/Digital%20Master%20004.zip

Download this ZIP file, extract the executable and put it in the folder where
Digital Master.exe lives, this is usually:

C:\Program Files\Amateur Radio\Ham Radio Deluxe

You MUST put the executable and DLL in the ZIP in this folder as it needs the
other DLLs which live there.

Let me know if you are able to start DM780.

Simon Brown, HB9DRV

Rainer, I have acomplished this with 2 windows with HRD open one for a
Ten Tec Orion2 and one for an Icom 746 Pro. Whether or not this is a
good idea or not, I don't know. The main thing I had to do was having
2 USB to serial converters one for each radio. But the radio with the
active window was controllable. I am not sure whether this is what you
were asking or not..Hope this helps. Bill KN8DMK..

OK,

New ZIP uploaded with all DLL's and the EXE.

You MUST put the executable in the ZIP in this folder as it needs the DLLs
which live there. All DLLs are in the ZIP file, I think the only one you
need to copy is HRDMultiMode001.dll.

Please note - I have stripped some web browser code out, DO NOT use this exe

Hi,

At the moment it's simply 'no comment'. After working crazy hours getting
v4.0 release I'm taking a break from DM780 and HRD and writing some
Satellite Tracking / EME software for a new station a friend has
constructed.

http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com/News/tabid/66/Default.aspx see the picture
of HB9HAL and listen to his 23cms signals.

I am also bug-fixing - in some minutes you'll see a test DM780 kit
announcement.

Once the Satellite Tracking code is bopping along in August I'll run through
all areas of HRD asking for suggestions, wishes, moans and groans. This will
cover the Logbook, DX Cluster and features such as favourites.

So once I get back inside HRD I'll be able to let you know about this - I'll
very probably add it but at the moment I have a lot of other code to write.

Also I have to earn a living in an area of the software market which is on
its knees, commercial life is not so good at the moment.

Hey: here's an interesting kink in dm 780 if you drag the waterfall down

I do not have an SDR but I have worked recording and moving data between
sound cards and rigs. Most rigs have a fixed audio level output on the back
of the rig. In the case of the Icoms, it comes out of the ACC ports. Never
ever use speaker output, or headphone output going into a sound card. As
your AF gain level changes so does the level of audio going input to the
sound card and results will not always be as expected. Use fixed audio
outputs only.

Still having difficulties. I must be missing something very basic.
The "monitor' function is set to auto, but still overloads. How do
you turn down the audio input from PowerSDR? When I turn down the AF
gain, it still overloads. I can turn down AGC-T, but still have
decoding difficulties. How do you best get the monitor to "80"?
Please advise the needful.

Fellows. I figured that there there no answer. You certainly have

Ron-KE5FMR/AE, I too have the same need regarding offsets and CTCSS
tones. I don't know what or where Simon is on the 10 meters and up
portion of the code, because that is where all this is needed, but if
you will look in the window when you program one of your FAVOURIATES,
you will see a grayed out area called Repeaters. I believe that is
going to be the additional data for the offsets and CTCSS tones when
Simon gets done with that part of the favourites.

Now along the same line, I was told that you can create a favourites
flag instantly without going through the long drawn out process of
going to the favourites tab then to the favourites manager and
manually entering the frequency. It this exists, I have not found it.
If it does exist, can someone please point me to how to create a
favourite on the fly?

And then there are the times you compose a lengthy reply that requires an
hour or so checking what you have written by testing your answers in
practice in HRD and never receive an acknowledgment to the post from the
original questioner, just a criticism of your grammar from others, so I
guess one becomes slightly jaded after a while.

Anyway, do ask the question again.

Bob,
You have to realize that in the past when someone had a problem there
were responses such as "I have the same setup but have no problems"
Then they were "Flamed" because they didn't offer any help.
After being derided for not helping, most just don't answer now.
It's one of those "Damned if you do and damned if you don't " type of
things.
For now if you don't get a response it's not that people don't want to
answer.
It's more that they don't want the nasty responses for supposedly not
helping.

Thanks and 73
