HAL's Race Results - Bulletin 4 of 2011
The first purpose of this bulletin is to apologise that the Club Results Service was off air for about three hours yesterday afternoon, Monday 13 June. This was due to a hardware failure at the company that supplies the server. All is well now and I trust that your results are showing as normal.
Secondly, a couple of people have alerted me to a problem entering the number of laps in average lap racing. It depends on your particular hardware and version of Windows, but in some systems the box for entering the number is rather small and only shows one digit. This is fine most of the time as few races have more than 9 laps, but if you do manage to enter two digits by mistake you only get to see the left hand one, which can be confusing. I have fixed the problem in a new beta release (version 11.12.01) that you can download from the web site at http://download.halsraceresults.com
It you do not use average lap racing, there is no point in downloading the new version as there are no other changes.
As always, I greatly value your comments.
I wish you happy sailing.
Peter Hopford
