Muse India Communication

Jun 30, 2009

Dear Members,

The new issue of Muse India (Jul-Aug 2009) is now released and can be viewed at www.museindia.com. It brings focus on an area that doesn’t seem to be getting the serious attention it deserves – Indian Plays in English. Edited by Prof Lakshmi Chandra of EFLU, the section critically looks at various issues involved.

In the ‘Feature’ section, we take a look at the rich literary contribution of the legendary poet-emperor of Vijayanagara, Krishnadeva Raya, whose quincentenary falls this year. Rest of the issue offers interesting mix of engaging articles, analytical book-reviews, absorbing short stories and delightful poetry. Striking visuals by the master photographer B Rajan Babu are presented in “Gallery.”

ISSN

Muse India (Online) has now been assigned an ISSN (0975-1815) that will be displayed in the homepage of all its issues. This should be of particular interest to academicians and research scholars whose articles are published in Muse India.

Tie-up with Poetrywala Publications

Muse India has entered into a special arrangement with Abhidanantar & Poetrywala Publications of Mumbai, under which our members will get a special discount of 25% on all their publications, both English and Marathi. Details of their books will be sent through a separate communication in a few days. Members may place their orders directly on them and mark a copy to Muse India. We may enter into similar understandings with other leading publishers for the benefit of our members.

The Monsoon is delayed in several parts of the country this year. Here’s wishing bountiful of rains everywhere and their soul-lifting experience!

Warm wishes.

Surya
