Hello GW Alumni,
Please REGISTER for our Second Annual African American Reunion, Saturday, April
4, 2009 (http://alumni.gwu.edu/calendar). The Reunion begins at 4pm with an
Open House at the Multicultural Student Services Center (formally known as the
Educational Opportunity Program, EOP). In addition to the open house, this
year's reunion will include a pre-reception followed by a conversation with
Garry Lyle, ATT '63-'67, and David Cummings, Senior Deputy Editor at ESPN The
Magazine, dinner and dancing.
We will also honor and remember the GW alumni who integrated GW's football team
in 1963 - Garry Lyle, ATT '63-'67, Norm Neverson, ESIA BA '67, Clifford Reid,
CCAS BA '67, and Kenny Doyen. In 1964, Garry Lyle moved to the position of
Quarterback becoming the first African American in the All Southern Conference
to do so.
We look forward to seeing you in April!
