Never a fan of former Chief Minister Parrikar, I was nevertheless pleased to see a photo in a local newspaper of him, along with Congressman Joaquim Alemao, inspecting a garbage disposal site. It was heartening to see two rival parties’ members coming together in their care and concern for the state. If there is something called constructive politics, then Parrikar is a model.
It is high time politicians put their personal aspirations and differences aside and team up to save our beautiful Goa. By doing so, Goan politicians can be an ideal for all national and state leaders in constructive politics. The government has to play its part in listening broad-mindedly to its companions from other parties and try to take heed of their voices.
The casino chaos has also been strongly opposed by Parrikar and many other like-minded Goans who care for the well-being of the state.
Kudos to Parrikar!
Now it is up to the government to take note of the pleas of the people.
