Report Number 4
on What The Hell Con.
By
Artist Robert Clyde Allen
Co-President NC Rowan County Anime Group
.
This will be my last report on the 2009 What The Hell Con. As I was
walking out I met a man wearing a top hat. I told him I really
loved his hat. He answered back and said it was his friend's. We
both sat outside the building. We had a discussion on Raleigh
getting the 2010 bid for the North America Science Fiction
Convention. Our discussion then turned to the last days of the
Civil War. We talked about Abraham Lincoln, General Sherman, Grant,
and Robert E. Lee. He told me two stories that he'd heard about
General Sherman. I told him another one about General Sherman.
.
It was kind of funny. Before I came to the convention, I was busy
talking to Nathan Rider about a book that writer Harry Turtledove
had done about a group of people that time travel back into the
past and give General Robert E. Lee high-powered guns that changes
the outcome of the Civil War.
.
Now, if you are an anime fan, the time travel anime series that I
enjoy looking at the most is "Generator Gwal." It is a story about
three young rebels who come from the future in order to stop World
War III from happening. ADV Films put out the DVD of this anime
series in the USA and did English- dubbed on the series. I rate it
an A+.
.
I want to take time out to say thank you to Jenna Goldberg and Sarah
Weiser for their outstanding job running Anime pop music videos at
this year's What The Hell Con. I am looking forward to seeing more
from the both you in the future in anime fandom.
.
I don't want to forget the nice young man who let me use his pencil
in order to write down titles that were played in the Experimental
Animation room.
.
As I was returning back to Salisbury with my travel companions,
Daniel, Cameron, and Nathan Rider, I tried starting up a discussion
by asking them why did they go to What The Hell Con? Nathan said
admittance was cheap and he really enjoyed the gaming. Cameron gave
the same answer. Daniel said it was his first time going to this
type of show. He wanted to experience it. For myself, I was busy
trying to find out more informaion on Stellar Con 33 in Greensboro
and other events happening in North Carolina.
.
Did I have any regrets from this year's What The Hell Con? Only
three. Number one, I wish that I could have dropped off flyers
about Animazement 2009 at the convention. Number two, that I took
more time to talk to Jenna Goldberg about Animazement 2008. Number
three, that I forgot to ask Nathan Rider to do a report on What The
Hell Con 2009. Because he is a better writer than me.
.
On the last day of What The Hell Con 2009. I had stop off to eat at
Sonic Burger in the Greensboro Mall . I started reminicing
andwondering what happen to Anette Yates , Scott Johnson , Bill
Nalin, Leslie Rickard , Mitchell Brown, Deborah K Smith ,Karlene
Fulton, Wendy Yap, Kim Benson. I wonder if they ever thinking about
me sometime in their life ?
.

reason why we chose this regulation as a young adults group is
because some anime material is not suitable for young viewers.
