I just want to welcome all the new members who've recently joined the
GryphList. This list has been around since '98, but has rarely had
much traffic on it, though everyone's certainly welcome to post away.
The Gryphon's Guild actually started out as a mailing list, back in
'94. Manually distributed, that is. Everyone who joined was sent a
copy of the list of members' e-mails. To send a message to the group,
you simply copy-pasted the whole list into your Cc: field. Heh. Ah,
those were the days. And people complain the Guild has changed. Back
in those days, there weren't any free mailing list providers. And we
LIKED IT. *shakes her cane*
After ITW was born, no one had much use for e-mail lists anymore, but
they remain a favorite of mine, since most of my early net experience
was on mailing lists (specifically FORKNI-L, for those aware of it).
Hey!
Squawk! I'm just glad to see any activity here. There are few, too
few good gryphs, and not many of them post.
Say, any good gryph sightings of late? Of course, the Narnia

Just popping in since everyone seems to have appeared out of thin air.
^_^ Heh. I'm having a most lovely birthday and sushi is on the
immediate event horizon, which makes me squee on the inside. I've read
a few books with gryphons in them recently, but I havn't actually seen
any, besides those in Narnia. But they were rather pretty.
Heh, thanks for the recap, Tser! I know that I post hardly at all, but I really
do enjoy seeing the lovely and rare gryphon tidbits which get posted here from
time to time.
As for new gryph sightings... Well, there's a good gryphon friend who was just
sighted moving to Oklahoma! :p Aside from that, I'm afraid it's been pretty bare
for me. I hope to put up some good news in about a week or two, however! ;)
I hope everyone else out there is doing well!
Clear Skies,
~Eclipse

The gryphons in the fifth installment of Heroes of Might and Magic are
pretty interesting in design. That's all I know offhand, though,
because I've mostly been buying re-releases of Win 95/98 games lately.

Hey!
Great to just see you folks again!
And, thanks mucho Kandace for the links to your art. I gotta
contact you about future commissions, too. But I'm lazy and take my
time getting around to things.
As for games, I still web surf looking for gryphons and such
things, and I keep running into vague references about them in games.
Just few details. I don't know if they are just the periodic
encountered monster or what. So, any info is appreciated. I have
found a couple of interesting screenshots, hehe.
Myself, still on the old family ranch, all by myself, which I kinda
like. Gotta find time to get back into art. There is only so much of
me to go around.
What else are our members doing?

Um...I haven't seen any new griff stuff lately. Yay. But then, I'm kinda stuck
here and don't get out much and whatever.
But in the mean time, I'm working at my university's geology museum. In the
gift store and giving tours. Had to give a tour to a group of 4 and 5-year-olds
today. Hyperactive kids first thing in the morning doesn't work for me. Aaaand
I'm slowly chugging through art stuffs that I need/want to get done.
So, yeah, my life's exciting.

Hey, interesting. Except the rotton little kids,, I'd rather feed
them to a dino. Part of why I quit teaching. Since I am out of the
dino loop, have you come across any data on the unusual dinosaur from
I think China, Therazinosaur (spelling?)? Weird critter, I am trying
to understand it.

In a nutshell, Therizinosaurs are a strange group of dinosaurs related to other
bird-like dinos such as the raptors. There is a possibility that some of them
were omnivorous, but by and large they were carnivores. They were almost
certainly feathered. http://dino.lm.com/taxa/display.php?name=Therizinosauria
And to think I could have studied under Dale Russel if only he hadn't retired
the year before I went to college :}~.

Hey everyone, I missed you guys. I just finished a succussful second year of
college, and I'm working part time this summer. I'm also doing some horse shows
this summer. I'm afraid I don't have any gryphon sightings to report, unless you
count the ones in the new Narnia movie. They were awesome!!
