Description

In the 1930's, the Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation designed and built its first amphibian. It utilized a biplane configuration, a single engine and conventional landing gear. It was affectionately named the Duck.

Over a decade later, the last of Grumman's amphibian line was taking to the air. This aircraft was a high wing monoplane design with two engines and a tricycle landing gear. The Albatross, as it became to be known, was still serving decades after its first flight.

This group is dedicated to Grumman's excellent line of amphibians and to the men and women who have owned, flown and maintained them. It is also dedicated to all the afficionados and enthusiasts who love these aircraft. Any information either current or historical is welcome. If you know of other folks who are interested in these aircraft and their histories, let them know about this group.
