Description

Our homebrewing group is primarily about growing hops (humulus lupulus) in small gardens or large hop farms, and these related topics: trellis and arbor design; disease and pest treatment; hop drying, storage, and use; and the exchange of hop rhizomes and whole-hops. But ANYTHING grown for brewing is also on-topic, such as BARLEY and HERBS used in beer, including processing them (e.g. malting), as long as it pertains to ingredients used for brewing beer, ale, or mead. This Yahoo group has high volume email, so PLEASE use our OTHER "Forums" at Grow-Hops.com to discuss vineyards and wine, and other gardening and general brewing topics such as recipes, competitions, brewing methods, or equipment (see last paragraph, below); Grow-Hops.com is an extension of this group with a Wiki, member-map, polls, and other features.

Our HUGE base of knowledgeable people with lots of experience makes this the premier place to discuss homebrewer gardening.

Be sure to spread the word, and please link to our Grow-Hops Portal to help improve our search-engine placement. Also check our many Yahoo group features here, including our 'database' to sign up for a FREE rhizome and our whole-hops exchange.

New members are moderated until their first on-topic post. Spam, trolls, and flame wars won't be tolerated; violators are subject to further moderation, or banning in extreme cases. Please read the 'Welcome' message you'll receive for important group information.

Distinctiveness in hops varieties
