----------------Welcome to the GreekArch E-Mail List---------------------------

Welcome to the GreekArch e-mail list, an e-mail discussion group intended
for students of the archaeology of the ancient Greek world.

We would like the list to be a place for lively and civil discussion on
all aspects of the archaeology of ancient Greece from the Iron Age to the
Byzantine. Requests for information should be honored by replies directly
to the person posting the inquiry. That person should then respond t o
the list as a whole, having compiled the answers in a compact form. This
will keep list traffic from growing out of hand and also make the archives
an important part of the list's function and an important reference tool.

The GreekArch list has a companion list in ROMARCH, the e-mail list for
Roman archaeology, also hosted by the Classical Studies server at the
University of Michigan. Since we expect that many will wish to subscribe
to both lists, we have created a joint list, called "Gromarch."
Subscribing to Gromarch will result in users belonging to both the romarch
and greekarch lists. Messages are marked according to which list they
come from (ROMA for romarch and GRAECIA for greekarch), so users will be
able to be sure about the originating list. If you wish to subscribe to
Gromarch, be sure to unsubscribe from greekarch and romarch, or you will
receive double messages. See below for instructions on subscribing to
Gromarch.

Please save this message for future reference.
