Description

‘Dear Old Snuffy’

By Derek Gregson 2000

To all would be Y-Groupies,
I beg you take a peek,
At Arrod’s band of stalwart folk,
Whose status is unique;
Ex-Arroders from round the globe,
Have rallied to the cause,
That celebrates great Harwood,
Through its pleasures and its woes.

There’s more to ‘Dear Old Snuffy’,
Than meets the jaundiced eye,
A host of fulsome memories,
That still refuse to die;
So join the Arrod Website,
And share with us times past,
Ensuring that Great Harwood Town,
For ever more will last.

Picture shows Group Owner John Duckworth (L) with Stephen Garside. Stephen started the Group in 1999 and returned to Great Harwood today, Sat 17/10/09, to visit the GHAS@10 exhibition. The location - Great Harwood library - was appropriate. 10 years ago he first advertised the new Great Harwood Group with a letter on the 'old' library notice board.
