Description
This group is for born again Christians who believe that obedience to the great commission is essential for balanced fruitful Christian life. Considering there have been studies in which it's been documented that only 2% of born again Christians actually openly share their faith, we believe that it's necessary that we "be zealous and repent".(Rev.3:19) We as Christians have largely dropped the ball when it comes to preaching the gospel. One of the primary reasons we are left here is to bring others to the faith. "You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." (Acts. 1:8) In Acts 10:42 Peter said "He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that he is the one ordained by God to be the judge of the living and the dead. In John 15:8 we read, "By this my father is glorified that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples." In Phil. 1:14 we read, "and most of the brethren have been made confident in the Lord because of my imprisonment, and are much more bold to speak the word of God without fear." In Prov. 29:25 we read, "the fear of man lays a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord is safe." The church of Laodicea was identified as lukewarm, "neither cold nor hot" as Jesus said in Rev.3:15. Jesus counseled that we buy 3 things in that letter, which we believe is addressed to the church of today, gold, white garments, and salve. All three relate to witnessing faithfully. Our gold must shine before all men as a lamp is not put there to be put under a bushel. If we say about not witnessing to the lost, "behold we did not know this, does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?"(Prov.24:12) This "hiding from our own flesh" is part of that nakedness Jesus spoke of! In Mic.2, the preachers are saying, "do not preach, thus they preach" The job of preaching is for all saved people! Ps. 106:34, "they did not destroy the peoples as the Lord commanded them". The church must return to faithfully sharing the gospel!
