My friend said I can post this (her email); Note I had changed the dates (not
years) of death cuz I wasn't sure she'd want it out there but she has no problem
with that so sent a link to a photo. Thx for any help.

"There are no other markings on the stone except for what you see -sides and
back are roughcut. The cemetery has only his date of interment and no
knowledge of the cryptic date.
This is in Olathe Cemetery. Olathe is the county seat in Johnson Co KS. The
cemetery dates to the late 1860s and was not one of the earliest cemeteries
here but is the largest non-commercial cemetery and the largest of the older
cemeteries. We do not have a county cemetery - Olathe Cemetery served the
role of a county cemetery.
He is interred in the newest section of the cemetery that was platted out
around the turn of the century (1900s) and was not platted in the old-style
family plot like the rest of the cemetery, but in a circular design with
pie-wedge sections and irregular plots that hold about 2 adults.
He is interred beside his daughter who was murdered the previous year. They
have matching granite monuments except hers is roughcut on top and hers had
a cross inscribed under her name and her dates are normal.
He was a farmer. He, his wife any a number of his first children were born
in OH. His wife and children were all living here when he died. Many of his
children are buried elsewhere in same cemetery - no hints there."

It would help to know where this stone is located.
But I'm curious, so I'll look into it and see if I can find out some info...
