What does E. M. on a headstone mean?
EXAMPLE:
JOHN SMITH
BORN FEB 23 E.M. 344
DIED DEC 19 E.M. 409
I tend to think it is a calendar abbrev like A.D. or B.C.
Note there are no spces between the periods.
Not sure what state, I am asking for a friend.
