About GPM
---------
The Gardens Point Modula (GPM) compilers are an ongoing development
project for the Programming Languages and Systems Group in the Faculty
of Information Technology at the Queensland University of Technology.
The GPM compiler family began as a project to make the language Modula-2
available in a consistent implementation on contemporary machines. It has
become a flexible platform for research in compiler technology as well as
associated areas. Visit our WEB site:
http://www.fit.qut.edu.au/CompSci/PLAS/GPM.
Gardens Point compilers have been written for Modula-2, Oberon-2, C, and
an experimental object oriented language called Luna. A Sather frontend
is near completion.
Code generators exist for the Intel i386/i486 chips (under SVR4, Linux,
DJGPP, Windows-NT and OS/2), Sun SPARC under Solaris, MIPS R3000 under Ultrix,
Digital's Alpha-AXP under OSF/1 and most recently for RS/6000 under AIX.
There is also an MS-DOS version based on interpreted DCode available.
The compilers for Linux, DJGPP, EMX and MS-DOS are available by anonymous ftp
from ftp.fit.qut.edu.au:/pub/gpm. Various papers as well as the DCode
reference manual can be down-loaded from the pub/papers directory.
