The General Philology Group, sponsored by the Warring States Project of the University of Massachusetts, is an invitational, archived discussion of problems of text philology which are common to classical Chinese and to other ancient traditions, with emphasis on the classical and Biblical Greek traditions. The currently emphasized topic is the Synoptic Problem.
Standard scholarly expectations for civility of discourse and for scrupulousness in citation will apply. The GPG conversation is private. We hope it will also be fruitful.
GPG is meant to be small. Those interested should visit the Making Contact page of the Project's web site, http://www.umass.edu/wsp/email/contact/index.html, and take the tour which begins on that page. There is a mail link at the end of the tour by which an interest in joining may be reported.
