2011-2015 is the 150th Anniversary of the U.S. CIVIL WAR: the central issue was the chattel enslavement of the Black American People (long pre-dating existence of the USA).

The United Nations observed 2011 as the "YEAR OF AFRODESCENDANTS" (People of African Descent). In August 2011, the Green Party Black Caucus (and also the group now organizing the GP LATINO Caucus) took part in the annual national meeting of GPUS, in Alfred, upstate NEW YORK.

In 2012 the GP BLACK CAUCUS continues its Green Party organizing in a U.S. presidential election year & beyond!!
