Hare Krishna!
I find this quote and similar ones rather intriguing. In fact, I
think that the theme near the end of the 'Embankment of Separation'
book is about how Mahaprabhu became so absorbed in Radha-bhava that
He practically became "like" Radha, whereas Jagannatha in Puri
remains as "Krsna." So Both are remaining in Jagannatha Puri together
and crying for each Other.
In another rather famous lecture by Gour Govinda Maharaja
entitled 'Three Unfulfilled Desires' (which I will soon transcribe),
Maharaja raises the same point of how Gauranga appears to be "like"
Radha almost totally.
This raises a few questions about the ontological position of
Gauranga. Where in the sastra does it *explicitly* state that
Gauranga is Radha and Krsna in *one body*? It appears that the vision
as revealed to Sripada Ramananda Raya is a revelation of dui-rupa,
but it does not seem to confirm that the Two are in one body
to "make" Gauranga, else that would contradict other sastric pramanas
about Krsna simply adorning Himself with the bhava and lustre of
Radha to becoe "golden."
Sorry if this seems a little confusing, as it is late at night right
now. I will try to clarify my points tomorrow, with sastric quotes.
In the meantime, please feel free to comment.
Kind regards,
Gaurasundara
