Where the name comes from?
I'm confused. Are you referring to the name "Godwin?" Or to a nickname or given name? If you are referring to the surname Godwin, according to Ancestry.com,

My husband, Billy Ray Godwin, Sr., passed away Nov. 5, 2006. He did quite a bit of research on his Godwin genealogy, but I do not recall anyone referred to in

Not of any of my relation...but if you know of an Alan or Allen Godwin born in Maryland and moved to Indiana in 1825 I would like to know. Thanks, Bob Godwin
