This forum is meant for those who are interested in researching Goa, a region in South Asia. It is primarily intended for researchers and was initiated in April 1996 on Goacom server and transferred to Yahoo Groups in Sept. 2005.

This is not a generic mailing list, but we favour a linkage of research with public interest and public causes in Goa. This forum is open to international membership, and since English is the only language in which we could all communicate without resorting to ambiguous and treacherous machine translations, we opted for English as the medium of communication in this forum, although Konkani, Marathi and Portuguese are firmly recognized as forming Goa's cultural heritage.
The success of this forum will depend upon the use you make of it.
This forum wishes to promote better knowledge for better performance; no contests, no «diriô» (traditional Goan bull fights) please! Cross-posting or proxy-posting is not encouraged. We discourage googled research! Avoid violation of copyrights or assume the responsibility and consequences. We need also to protect those who are not members of this forum and are not present to defend themselves. The Moderator reserves the right to edit any message without any prior referral to the message sender, to modify / remove any expression(s) which he deems ofensive or provocative. A «repeat infringer» of the forum rules after a couple of call-attention notices from the Moderator may see his/her membership suspended or terminated.
