Welcome to IPRA Sydney 2010.
We have a webpage taking shape at www.iprasydney2010.org
I’ve attached the initial Call for Papers here. Please circulate to your
own contacts. Please note, deadline for responding to this Call for Papers is
Friday October 2nd. By then, it will be possible to pay conference fees via the
website.
Early Bird registration means payment by November 6th, so in order to make this
a real opportunity for your Commission members, you will have to accept their
papers by then. People will only pay to register if they are sure of being able
to present!
IMPORTANT: Please also pass on to us any paper proposals you receive to ipra.conference@...
Please note the fee structure for IPRA 2010:
Conference fees are as follows. Prices are in Australian dollars:
Delegate from OECD = 375 (Early Bird = 325)
With IPRA membership = 325 (Early Bird = 275)
Non-OECD/student = 225 (Early Bird = 175)
With IPRA membership = 175 (Early Bird = 125)
The fees are a little higher than for IPRA 2008, despite our best efforts in
keeping them down. This is for two main reasons: inflation in the sector, and
the difficulty, amid the Global Financial Crisis, of obtaining funding for
grant-assisted places. IPRA Foundation, for example, have declared that they
will not be able to supply any grant support for this conference, because of
“the dramatic loss of value in its investments due to the Global
Financial Crisis”.
We should have a payment path, and accommodation details, on the website soon.
Another important note: This IPRA conference is immediately preceded by the
Global Meeting of the TRANSCEND Peace and Development Network, also at the
It is immediately followed by the 2010 Conference of the Toda Institute for
Peace and Policy Research, themed, ‘Humanitarian Competition for Global
Visioning’. This conference will take place at the
